CBSUA library celebrates National Book Week (NBW) 2018
Pili Campus
The 2018 National Book Week was celebrated by the CBSUA University Library on November 26-29, 2018 with the theme �Connected Actions, Collective Visions: Libraries Transforming Society. This celebration is through the proclamation 696 on 1934 and 109 by Governor Frank Murphy and Pres. Manuel L. Quezon.�The University Library facilitated various�activities that were participated by the students. Various skills and talents were showcased. The winners for the various contests received cash prizes namely, Ma. Ellaine Noreen(grand winner) and Eric Sumayao for the CBSUA library song writing;Ricardo Briones (grand winner), John Vincent Tipones and John Aden S. Alegria�for spoken poetry; Jonezel I. Roman for guess�
the book page; Jericca B. Angagan, Sabina S. Cominguez, and Lalyn F. Morota for early bird; and Lorelei F. Buenavente, Zarah Grace A. Veras, Jelyn C. Cordinete, Dana Mae F. San Andres, Joe Jed S. Ballega, Jude R. Pestano, Joely M. Cornejo, Jomar A. Mendoza, Alyssa Ashley R. Lumacad, Joche V. Alfuente, Noli C. Soroan, and M. Monica F. Bon for book hunting. Also, the librarians and library staff forum was held on November 29, 2018 at the Audio Visual Room of the CBSUA Main Library.�The main�objective of the forum was to share the knowledge acquired from the different seminars and trainings they have attended. The librarians and staff who shared information to the participants were: Mr. Sherwin A. Balang and Mrs. Rowena R. Manaog, both librarians from the Pili Campus discussed how to handle library customers and how to evade fake information in the digital resources, respectively. Meanwhile, Mr. Kenneth Roman, a library staff from the Pili Campus gave his experience on the digitization project for theses and dissertation. Finally, Mr. Mark Eva, a librarian from Calabanga Campus lectured on the new trends on librarianship through information and technology with a topic on Library 3.0.
