Library consortium in the Bicol region inks an MOU

The Philippine Librarians Association Inc. - Bicol Region Librarians Council (PLAI-BRLC 2015-2016)� through� its� President, Dr.� Rolando P. Oloteo collaborated with librarians from the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Bicol Region to establish a library consortium.The said consortium aims to strengthen the library linkages in the region which will extend the services on library holdings, IT facilities, research collaboration, trainings and other partnership of the member institutions to the respective clients of�the academic institutions.� On June 22, 2018, was the formal launching of the Bicol Consortium of Academic Libraries (BCAL) held at the James O� Brien SJ Library of Ateneo de Naga University. During the launching a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was duly signed by the corresponding presidents/head of the agency of the fourteen (14) member HEIs in the Bicol Region, both private and public. The member of the Bicol Consortium of Academic Libraries are as follows: Ateneo de Naga University,�Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology, Bicol University, Camarines Norte State College, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Catanduanes State University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Divine Word College of Legazpi, Mariners� Polytechnic Colleges Foundation Legazpi, Naga College Foundation, Partido State University, Sorsogon State University, Universidad de Sta.
