The University library, Pili Campus inaugurated the opening of new BICOLIANA SECTION)

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture proudly inaugurated “TAGUBHANG,” a significant work by Dr. Lourdes Lobis-Nieva, on August 28, 2025. This momentous event marks another milestone for the University Library as it continues to promote Bicolano culture, heritage, and literary excellence.

The celebration was graced by the presence and leadership of the university’s key officials. The formal opening of the Bicolania Section was highlighted by an inspiring ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Atty. Dominador A. Faurillo, Vice President for Administration and Finance. He was joined by Ms. Rowena R. Manaog, University Librarian, and the author herself, Dr. Lourdes Lobis-Nieva, who together symbolically opened the doors to this new literary and cultural space.

This special section serves as a dedicated hub for Bicolano literature, history, and creative works, offering students, researchers, and visitors a place to explore the rich identity and traditions of the region. The Bicolania Section, located on the second floor of the University Library, is now open for visits. Everyone is invited to explore its growing collection and appreciate the depth and beauty of Bicolano culture.

On August 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., five (5) representatives from the Naga College Foundation visited the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Quality Assurance Hub as part of their benchmarking activity. The visit aimed to learn about CBSUA’s best practices in various functional areas. Several heads of offices and directors were invited to participate in the discussion, including the Director for Curriculum and Instruction Division, the Director for Information and Communication Technology, the University Librarian, the In-Charge of the Science Centrum, the Assistant Director for Local and International Quality Assurance, the Assistant Director for Quality Assurance, and the Assistant Director for International Quality Assurance.
