University librarian visits Taiwan for international benchmarking

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Pili Campus through the CHED ID-IG project sent six (6)�non-teaching personnel namely: Mr. Rey E. Sanchez (University/ Board Secretary), Mrs. Ma. Victoria Cadag (University Supply Officer), Dr. Lilibeth Saavedra (University Budget Officer), Dr. Carmelita Collada (University Registrar) and Dr. Rolando P. Oloteo (University Librarian) for an international exposure in Taiwan specifically at Feng Chia University and National Chung Hsing University from September 2-8, 2018.�The team visited the Feng Chia University to benchmark the best practices, facilities, and services rendered to their respective clienteles. The team was accommodated by the key officials of the university and was able to exchange ideas and inputs in the dialogue conducted. The counterpart in the library discussed their journey on how they transform their library services into digitized collection, creation of�several learning spaces (discussion room and maker�space) that is mostly occupied and enjoyed by the�students and other clienteles, showcasing of modern�facilities (book drop, online book reservation, etc.)�Computers are visible in every corner of the library�that can be used by their clients, and the presence of�modern designs of library fixtures and air-conditioning system that create excellent ambiance is remarkable.�The officials of the National Chung Hsing University rendered a brief presentation of the practices and services of their respective office. After every presentation, there was a privilege given to the team to ask questions to the presentation of their counterparts.�The CBSUA and the two Universities will strengthen the partnership through various programs such as: faculty- student exchange, research and extension collaboration, instructional enhancement, information material exchange and others. Once the collaboration is finalized, this will be inked through the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
